On December 19th, online Info session of the Call “Social Innovations for the Upskilling of Vulnerable Youth, Especially Young People not in Employment, Education, or Training (NEETs)” took place. The event hosted by the European Competence Centre for Social Innovation, attracted up to 300 participants from almost all Member States of the European Union and even from Turkey, Canada, and Macedonia.

The online Info session provided the potential applicants with the information on the main aspects of the Call which aims to empower youth at-risk through skills development. The Call was launched on the 10th of November and now it is time to prepare the applications.

During the Info session, potential applicants could learn more about the social innovations and how to prepare an application for the Call. The information provided briefly covered the whole process from submitting an application to the funding and implementation of the projects for the benefit of NEETs.

The presentations were given by experts from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion and the European Competence Centre for Social Innovation. The presentations covered the following topics:

  • European year of Skills;
  • Main aspects of the call (project design, eligible beneficiaries, supported activities);
  • Financial aspects of the call (lump sum funding, work packages, eligible costs, recommendations);
  • Assessment and selection process (admissibility and eligibility check, award criteria).
